Blue Cross NC Begins Outreach to Providers for Directory Attestations

Currently, Blue Cross NC individual providers can ONLY submit directory attestations through Quest Analytics BetterDoctor. This is a correction from our previously posted communication stating providers could use the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) to attest. Blue Cross NC is NOT currently partnering with CAQH for providers to attest. (Please note only credentialing is done through CAQH). If you used CAQH for attestation, it is not valid, and you must attest through BetterDoctor.
On behalf of Blue Cross NC, Quest Analytics (through its BetterDoctor solution) is currently contacting providers to review and attest to the accuracy of their directory information. This is being done in response to the federal Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA). As part of the Act, Blue Cross NC requires all network providers to confirm their demographic information published in its online provider directory every 90 days. The online provider directory (or "Find Care" tool) is used by over four million Blue Cross NC members to access medical services.
In addition to Quest Analytics’ BetterDoctor solution, providers that use the Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) can also attest to the accuracy of their Blue Cross NC provider directory information through its DirectAssure solution. Providers that are already using CAQH DirectAssure to confirm data every 90 days will be removed from the BetterDoctor contact list as Blue Cross NC will accept this as directory attestation. Providers do not have to attest twice.
Providers can only submit directory attestations through Quest Analytics or CAQH. Submitting your directory attestation through BetterDoctor or DirectAssure yields multiple benefits to providers including automatic reminders every 90 days, updates and attestation communicated to all other contracted health plans, demographic updates made in real time, and a decrease in administrative burden.
