A guide to logging in to your personalized member portal from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC).
In addition to entering your password, the login process now includes an extra verification step. This is an important measure to protect your private information by ensuring only you can access your account.
Enter your username and password at the login screen.
If you haven't already, you'll be asked to verify your email address. You'll only need to do this once.
Next, you'll choose a method for verifying your login. This method will be used for all future logins.
You will verify your login by entering a security code or by using the biometrics on your device. Then you will be logged in to your account.
Receive a text message that includes a security code.
Receive an automated phone call from Blue Cross NC that includes a security code.
Use your fingerprint or facial recognition software on your device to log in.
Receive a code via a smartphone app like Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator.
Authenticator apps are an extra layer of security for online accounts. They add a second step of verification when signing in. This means that in addition to a password, you also need to enter a security code that is generated by the app on your phone.
Free authenticator apps, such as Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator, can be downloaded from Google Play or the Apple App Store.
This multi-factor authentication is necessary to protect your private information. By requiring two forms of verification, we can ensure a higher level of security and confirm that only you are accessing your data.
You can use fingerprint or facial recognition software on devices, such as smartphones, to verify your login.
This is supported on iOS 16 or higher on iPhones and Android 13 or higher on most other smartphones. Some functions may not work with lower operating systems. For the best experience, make sure your device is using a compatible version.
If you don't see a verification code email, follow these steps:
- Make sure the email did not go to the spam folder.
- Confirm the noreply@authmail.bcbsnc.com email address is not blocked, especially if accessing the member portal from a workplace network.
- Request a new verification code by selecting Resend Code in the member portal.
- Contact us for additional help by calling 888-705-7050 Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 7 PM ET.
