Blue Cross NC Medicare Advantage HMO D-SNP Collaboration with Amerigroup

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) posted a communication on October 8, 2020, announcing our new Medicare Advantage HMO Dual Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) product offering effective January 1, 2021, called Healthy Blue + Medicare.  

Blue Cross NC has collaborated with Amerigroup Partnership Plan, LLC (an Anthem Company) to introduce this new product, offered to those who are dually eligible for both Medicare and Medicaid.  Healthy Blue + Medicare is an included Medicare Advantage (MA) plan for all Blue Cross NC Medicare Provider Agreements, and its members are served by the same network that serves all other MA plans offered by Blue Cross NC. The D-SNP plan will be administered in part by Amerigroup.  Healthy Blue + Medicare leverages Blue Cross NC’s deep expertise on local needs, solutions and community which is augmented by Amerigroup’s best-in-class care management capabilities. 

Blue Cross NC is committed to enhancing health care delivery in North Carolina for eligible D-SNP members.  Benefit highlights in 2021 for eligible members include $0 premiums, $0 primary care copays, dental and eyewear benefits, hearing, post-discharge meals, a $300 per quarter over-the-counter allowance and unlimited trips to and from doctor visits.
