Reimbursement Policy: Bundling Services Policy Revisions
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) will apply the following revisions to the reimbursement policy Bundling Guidelines.
Effective August 1, 2024, Blue Cross NC will include fiberglass casting materials as incidental to casting and casting services, and visual acuity services as incidental to Evaluation and Management (E&M) visits. As a reminder, incidental services are not separately reimbursable. The updated policy was posted here on June 1, 2024.
Effective September 1, 2024, Blue Cross NC will not allow separate reimbursement for interoperative neurophysiology monitoring services billed by a facility (UB-04 claim). The updated policy was posted here on July 1, 2024.

These changes will apply to Commercial, Inter-Plan Program (IPP) Host, State Health Plan and Federal Employee Program (FEP). This will not apply to IPP Home.
