Update: 2022 Attestation Requirement for Facilities and Ancillary Providers & the CAA Mandate

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) would like to provide an update to a communication previously posted on Oct. 05, 2022

This is regarding the attestation that facilities and ancillary providers will have to attest to due to the CAA mandate. All facility providers will be required to attest every 90 days to directory display information that includes practice name, address, phone number, digital contact information and specialty (as required).

Beginning  Nov. 03, 2022, Quest will contact impacted providers and send additional details on the provider attestation process. Effective Mar. 29, 2023, Blue Cross NC will suppress facility providers that have not attested or if their attestations are greater than 90 days old.

Please note that attestation is required for all providers, however, our Phase I focus is on facility providers. Please refer to page 7 of the FAQ document for a list of the facility provider types that will be targeted in Phase I. More information will be communicated in the coming months on Phase 2 (all remaining providers; non-facility).
