Directory Facility Attestation Deadline Extended to April 28th for Inclusion in the Blue Cross NC Online Provider Directory

There remain many Blue Cross NC facility providers that have yet to attest to their directory display information and risk being suppressed or not published in the provider directory. For this reason, Blue Cross NC is extending the directory attestation deadline to April 28, 2023. This one-time extension offer is for facility providers that have not attested to their directory information by March 29, 2023.  

Starting on April 29, 2023, Blue Cross NC will begin to suppress (i.e., not publish in Blue Cross NC’s provider directory) non-responsive facility providers that have not attested or their attestations are greater than 90 days thereby limiting access to care services for over two million Blue Cross NC members. 

As part of the federal Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) mandate, Blue Cross NC is required to suppress facility providers from its online provider directory that do not have a current attestation of less than 90 days. To simplify the directory attestation process for facility providers, Blue Cross NC partnered with Quest Analytics’ BetterDoctor solution to conduct ongoing outreach to all facility providers to confirm directory information is accurate. The BetterDoctor solution automatically sends reminders to facility providers every 90 days. In addition, BetterDoctor also sends relevant updates and attestations to other contracted health plans that work with Quest Analytics saving facility providers’ valuable time.
