Action Required: Process Changes to Medical Drug Authorizations
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC)'s Corporate Pharmacy department began reviewing medical drug authorizations using CoverMyMeds in a two-part phased approach. Phase 1 began on April 28, 2021, and Phase 2 will begin on June 16, 2021. You can view more details in this Provider News.
Starting July 1, 2021, providers must submit authorization requests through CoverMyMeds.com or through our new fax forms and fax number 888-348-7332 for service.
Beyond that date, Blue Cross NC will not be able to complete authorization requests using any other submission methods, including submissions using the old fax forms, phone calls or emails. Please confirm that you are using the correct method before submitting.
