Register for Blue Connect

Your Blue Connect℠ member portal gives you access to everything you need to manage your health, vision, or dental plan all in one place.

What you need to register

Before you start, you'll need to get a few things ready, including:

  • Your member ID card
  • Date of birth
  • ZIP Code
  • An email address
  • A phone number

No member ID card? No problem. You'll have an option to register with an authorization code sent via a phone call or text message.

You must have an active Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) plan to get a code. If you just purchased your plan, it could take up to 48 hours to verify your enrollment.

Registration steps

Before you can sign in to Blue Connect, you have to get registered.

Answer questions

Fill in some information, including:

  • Whether you're registering for yourself or for a dependent
  • What kind of policy you have (medical, dental, or vision)

Add information

Enter your subscriber ID and your 2-digit member code from your member ID card.

If you don't have a subscriber ID, you can get an authorization code via a phone call or text message. Enter it to continue.

Create your username and password

Follow the prompts in the Blue Connect registration process to create a username and password that meet security requirements.

Choose your security question

Your security question will be used if you ever need to reset your password. Either choose a question from our list or write your own.

Enter your email address

Ocassionally, we may need to contact you about your account. You'll need to add your email address.

Submit your registration

Click the button on the bottom of the registration process that says Submit, and you're all set!
