Blue Cross NC Discontinuing Financial Assistance Program in Response to the Change Healthcare Outage
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) announced in March 2024 the offering of an interest-free provider loan supporting our smaller, independent providers facing financial burden due to the Change Healthcare (CHC) outage.
Blue Cross NC will discontinue our no-interest loan program for North Carolina providers impacted by the cyberattack on Change Healthcare. This is due to the Change Healthcare claims system being operational and Blue Cross NC seeing normal claim volumes, which indicates that providers are successfully submitting claims.
Blue Cross NC will stop accepting new loan applications on August 2, 2024.
Providers that participated in the loan program will be contacted by Blue Cross NC and notified of the loan program end date and their loan repayment timeline.
