New Provider Enrollment Delay: Updated Timing
As we previously communicated, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) was experiencing significant delays in enrolling new providers. We are pleased to share that through measures taken to improve the process, we are currently enrolling new providers on a 60-day timeframe.
As a reminder, the provider enrollment step is only one part of a multi-step process that providers must complete to access and serve Blue Cross NC members as in-network providers. Credentialing, enrollment and contracting must all be completed. We are currently updating and streamlining the process to continue to improve on-boarding for our valued providers. We will continue to provide updates as the process is finalized through our network participation page and our provider news site.
