Blue Cross NC Partners with Quest Analytics BetterDoctor to Coordinate 2023 CAA Directory Attestation Requirement for Individual Practitioners
As part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA), Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) will require all practitioners to update and confirm their demographic information (e.g., practice name, address, phone number, email, and specialty) published in the Blue Cross NC provider directory every 90 days. The provider directory (or our "Find Care" tool) is used by over 2 million Blue Cross NC members to access medical services.
To simplify the process for practitioners, Blue Cross NC has partnered with Quest Analytics BetterDoctor solution to conduct provider outreach and verification services on behalf of Blue Cross NC. The BetterDoctor solution will send out communications with tokens (access code) to gain access to their provider portal where necessary updates and attestations for accuracy can be collected. The solution also sends automated reminders to practitioners every 90 days to update and confirm validity of provider directory information. Any updates or attestations are shared with all contracted health plans; ultimately, saving practitioners valuable time contacting multiple health plans (each with their own update/attestation method).
Beginning March 2023, Quest Analytics will start contacting Blue Cross NC practitioners with additional details on the directory verification process.
