Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) would like to notify our provider partners that The Rawlings Company has acquired several organizations and rebranded as Machinify, creating a unified company under the new name.

What you need to know:

• There is no action required from providers at this time.
• If you see the Machinify name in communications, please note it is legitimate and represents the same work previously performed by The Rawlings Company on behalf of Blue Cross NC.

Work that will continue under Machinify: 

• Subrogation & workers’ compensation: Machinify identifies and pursues recovery of paid claims if or when payment is the responsibility of another party. Examples include motor vehicle accidents, premises liability cases (slip and fall), or work-related injuries and illnesses.  
• Coordination of benefits (COB): COB services focus on members who are covered by more than one health plan at the same time when claims were paid.  
• Pharmacy services:  Machinify identifies COB, retro termination, and other overpayments focused on drug claims that appear on either our Pharmacy and Medical claims platforms.   

What is not changing with this name change:  

• Their commitment to excellent service and high-quality products.  
• Their dedicated team members remain with Machinify. 
• Phone numbers and physical addresses remain unchanged. 
• The processes you follow for Rawlings should also be followed for Machinify. 
• The naming conventions of existing data exchange files will remain the same. 

What is changing with this name change:  

• Their company name and logos on letters issued in 2026 will now appear as Machinify. During this transition period, you may see communication from Rawlings that is currently in process or hear references to Rawlings from attorneys. These are referencing the same company.  
• Their email addresses will now reflect a Machinify domain: ex: John.Smith@machinify.com
