Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) is committed to working with providers as we implement new plans. In October 2025, we posted a communication announcing the Coupe Health Plan offer. We would like to clarify the information provided regarding member payment collection.
What’s changing
- At the time of service, the 270/271 transactions will confirm member eligibility and contain the message: “No member payment due at time of service, member responsibility is reflected on the final remit file.”
- To verify any applicable copay which may be collected, providers can call the Provider Services number on the back of the member ID card.
- Providers will follow their typical claim submission and billing processes.
