As a reminder, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) does not allow separate reimbursement of supplies, items, and services that are necessary or otherwise integral to the provision of a specific service and/or to the delivery of services in a specific location.
This includes but is not limited to the following Revenue Supply Codes:
- 0270 Medical/surgical supplies
- 0271 Nonsterile supply
- 0272 Sterile supply
- 0273 Take-home supplies
- 0277 Take-home oxygen
- 0279 Other supplies/devices
- 0621 Incident to Radiology
- 0622 Incident to Other Diagnostic services
- 0623 Surgical Dressings

This policy applies to Commercial, Inter-Plan Program (IPP) Host, and Federal Employee Program (FEP). This does not apply to Medicare Advantage or IPP Home.
