As of January 1, 2025, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC), implemented a member benefit for qualifying members to have knee, hip and shoulder replacements performed for one single copay instead of paying a deductible and coinsurance. The program, called the Episodic Bundle Payment Plan (EBPP), offers complete knee, hip or shoulder replacement for one simple upfront copay. This program streamlines high-quality care and simplifies billing for both our members and participating providers.
Blue Cross NC is encouraging our orthopedic providers performing these Musculoskeletal (MSK) services to contact our Bundled Program managers at BundleProgramInterest@bcbsnc.com to discuss if you are eligible to participate in the Episodic Bundle Payment Plan program.
