The 2026 Medicare Advantage (MA) Stars Rating results for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) have been released. 

These results are benchmarked nationally and reflect clinical outcomes, member satisfaction—including feedback on provider experience—and the high-quality care and service we deliver to our members every day. 

Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) is from October 15 through December 7 each year. Consumers see these plan star ratings when they shop for Medicare Advantage products and help to make sure they are choosing a quality plan. High ratings support health plan growth focused on retention and benefit enhancements. 

Blue Cross NC 2026 Star Ratings by plan: 

• Medicare Advantage HMO plan: 4.0 Star Rating 
• Medicare Advantage PPO plan: 4.5 Star Rating 
• Medicare Advantage Experience Health plan: 3.5 Star Rating 
• Medicare Advantage Dual Eligible Special Needs (D-SNP) plans: 3.5 Star Rating 

These results are possible in part because of our provider partners’ commitment to improving clinical outcomes, enhancing member experience, and delivering consistent, high-quality care. 

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) uses the Medicare Star Quality Rating System to evaluate Medicare plans based on quality of care and member experience. Key measures include:  

• HEDIS (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set), such as colorectal cancer screening or blood pressure control. 
• Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA) metrics, such as medication adherence for diabetes. 
• CAHPS (Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems), such as getting needed care and the rating of health care quality.
