Supply and Implant Revenue Code Appropriateness
As a reminder, in accordance with Blue Cross NC Revenue Code reimbursement policy, we require CPT/HCPCS be submitted with appropriate corresponding revenue codes.
Blue Cross NC has identified providers incorrectly billing supplies (e.g. guidewires, catheters, needles) with implant revenue codes (e.g. 278).
Providers may correct a claim using a more appropriate revenue code that aligns with the CPT/HCPCS submitted.
This applies to Medicare Advantage including Experience Health, Commercial, Host and Federal Employee Program (FEP). This will not apply to IPP Home.
