Carelon has created the educational presentation Imaging & Management of Low Back Pain for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) network providers to view at their convenience. The goal of the presentation is to serve as an educational resource to enable providers to:
- Discover the background and etiology of low back pain
- Identify the role of imaging and associated harms/risks
- Determine conservative treatment recommendations from evidenced-based guidelines
- Locate available patient education resources
This educational presentation supports Blue Cross NC’s Lower Back Pain Imaging policy and the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) measure, Use of Imaging for Low Back Pain.
