Directory Attestation Deadline March 29, 2023 for Inclusion in Blue Cross NC’s Online Provider Directory
Blue Cross NC and its facility providers share a common goal – to provide the best quality care for their patients. An accurate provider directory is an essential first step to accomplishing our mutual goal. Accurate provider directories are critical for members to identify and access timely, affordable, and high-quality care.
Effective March 29, 2023, Blue Cross NC will be enforcing the federal Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA) mandate to suppress facility providers from its online provider directory that do not have a current attestation of less than 90 days. Per your contract with Blue Cross NC, you are required to update and attest as required by Blue Cross NC for its compliance with federal and state laws.
Specifically, suppressed facility providers will not be published in Blue Cross NC’s online provider directory until their information can be verified. Being suppressed from the Blue Cross NC provider directory means facility doctor(s) and location(s) will be invisible to over two million Blue Cross NC members.
Facility providers that do not have updates to their demographic information are still required to attest or verify the accuracy of their data with Blue Cross NC every 90 days as required by Blue Cross NC consistent with the CAA mandate.
To simplify the directory attestation process for facility providers, Blue Cross NC is working with Quest Analytics’ BetterDoctor solution to conduct ongoing outreach to all facility providers to confirm directory information is accurate. The BetterDoctor solution automatically sends reminders to facility providers every 90 days along with instructions on how to log into the portal to update and attest to directory information as required by Blue Cross NC consistent with the CAA mandate. In addition, BetterDoctor also sends relevant updates and attestations to other contracted health plans that work with Quest Analytics saving facility providers’ valuable time.
