Carelon Medical Benefits Management Authorization Period for Diagnostic Imaging Management (DIM) to Change Effective May 15, 2023
Certain provider specialties relating to Hematology and Oncology were receiving authorization approvals for up to 180 days for the Diagnostic Imaging Management (DIM) program. However, as of May 15, 2023, all authorizations for DIM will be approved for 30 days to be consistent across these exams for all specialties. Any existing authorizations will be honored for the current timeframes, and this change will only apply going forward and reflected in the Carelon Medical Benefits Management (Carelon, formerly AIM Specialty Health) authorization approval.
