Blue Cross NC’s 2020 financial results reflect high cost of pandemic, commitment to members and providers:
- Net Income ratio of 2.6 percent, down from 5.0 percent in 2019
- Medical claims and expenses rose by $200 million, membership increased to 3.86 million
- Dec. 2020 saw the highest health care costs in a single month in Blue Cross NC’s history
