We know that finding a new doctor can feel like a challenge, especially if you've had to leave one you know and trust.
The right doctor can make all the difference. Whether it's for routine checkups, long-term health goals, a chronic condition, or a sudden health issue, your doctor is there every step of the way.
To make that transition easier and quicker, we have tools, tips, and resources designed to help you find a new doctor that's right for you.
There's a lot to think about when you're picking a new doctor. Before making any decisions, there are a few important things to consider that can make a difference in your medical costs and the kind of experience you get.
Choose a provider whose office is close to your home or work to make regular visits and appointments more accessible.
Look for qualities you prefer, such as gender or language. Feeling comfortable can improve the relationship and overall care.
Consider doctors affiliated with a specific medical system for quicker access to specialists, tests, and records within the same network.
Ensure your primary care doctor is covered in-network within your insurance plan to minimize out-of-pocket expenses.
Our Find Care search can help you find the right fit with one of our in-network doctors near you. With just a few pieces of information, you can find a list of doctors covered by your Blue Medicare Advantage plan so you can compare your options.
All the information you need can be found on your Blue Medicare Advantage ID card, so be sure to grab it before getting started.
If you don't have a physical card with you, you can find a digital version by logging in to the member portal and selecting ID Card from your account menu.
Open the Find Care search and select Doctor or Facility.
Then select your plan from the list of options. You can find your plan name at the top of your ID card.
A search personalized to your plan will open.
From there, you can search for doctors based on name, location, or medical specialties. Use your ZIP code to find who is close to you.
If you're not sure what kind of doctor you need, you can select the Medical Specialties box to find a list of types of doctors and facilities.
