Welcome! We know there are many options out there and we appreciate you choosing a Medicare Advantage plan from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.

We're here to make things easy for you and to help you get the most out of your health plan. Here is a quick and simple list to get you started.

[Check out your ID card]

Number one: Check out your ID card. You'll want to have it whenever you visit your doctor or healthcare provider. It's loaded with important information like your member ID number, your plan name, our website address, phone number, and mailing address.

[Make an appointment]

Number two: Make an appointment to see your doctor to discuss your overall health and care plan. If you're new to Medicare, you're entitled to a free Welcome to Medicare visit. If this isn't your first year on Medicare, you're entitled to a free annual wellness visit.

[Prescription drug coverage]

Number three: If your plan includes prescription drug coverage, you can save money on your prescriptions. In BlueConnect, you can find pharmacies and even options for ordering your prescriptions by mail. Each of these can help you reduce prescription costs.

[Extra help program]

If you're on a limited budget, you may qualify for the extra help program. If eligible, Medicare could pay for up to 75% or more of your drug costs.

[Silver & Fit]

Number four: Don't forget to sign up for the Silver & Fit exercise and healthy aging program and get a no cost gym membership.

Pharmacy and Rx information

It’s very important to discuss your prescriptions with your doctor. This can help you check for drug availability and, if possible, save money with generic prescriptions. Your doctor can also provide any medication counseling if needed to ensure you continue to take your medications as directed.

Because we care about your health, we’ll send refill reminders to help you stay on track. We also cover several Part D vaccines at no cost to you.

Save with generic drugs

You could receive generic maintenance drugs at no cost. Review our Select Care Drug list.

Communicate with your doctor

Review your formulary with your doctor. It can help to ask about generic prescriptions, but always follow your doctor’s recommendations.

Find your local pharmacy

We work with preferred pharmacies to help you save money on your prescriptions. Click here to find one near you.
