Styron & Styron: Dedicated to serving their community

Like us, Tom and Valerie, are dedicated to serving their community. As trusted health insurance agents in Carteret county, their work is about much more than sales: It also offers opportunities to connect with the community they call home.

I’ve been with Blue Cross since 1987 I believe. I live in Beauford, North Carolina with my lovely wife.

Both of our families have been in this county since early 1700s.

I think the importance of this agency is really just the importance of the relationships that have been built and maintained for, you know, 45 some odd years now.

[Thom Styron]

The drive that we get from serving others is our big thing. That they expect us to be here and that’s what we do, it’s part of our work ethic.

[Melodi Styron Lyerly]

The involvement in the community that Thom and Valerie have – Community College and EMC and all of the things that they are involved in.

[Valerie Styron]

We get joy out of working with people so that gives us energy just being able to work with people.

[Thom Styron]

All these things, our involvement in the community and trying to help others is recognized by Blue Cross and it has been very helpful.

It’s a great marriage.
