GET READY AND RENEW!

Finalize your 2020 health plan

Open Enrollment runs from November 1 to December 15. And Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) wants to make the process as smooth and simple as possible for you.

Below, you’ll find important information about your 2020 Affordable Care Act (ACA) health plan. Please review it – along with the rate notice you received in the mail – carefully. Then, follow the step-by-step renewal checklist to compare options and finalize your 2020 health plan!

Your 2020 Health Plan

Your current Blue Value℠ with UNC Health Alliance plan will become Blue Home with UNC Health Alliance in 2020. It comes with a new name and some network changes. You'll still have access to high-quality doctors and hospitals within the UNC Health Alliance network. However, it’s no longer a statewide network and some providers in the Triangle will become out-of-network. Use the Find a Doctor tool to verify that your preferred doctors and hospitals will be in this plan’s network.

For those in Person County: Blue Home with UNC Health Alliance will include additional independent practices in Person county. That means convenient in-network access to North State Medical Center, Person Family Medical Center, Roxboro Internal Medicine & Pediatrics, and Roxboro Family Medicine & Immediate Care, as well as other primary care doctors and specialists (such as gastroenterology and orthopedics). Since this is a new addition, our Find a Doctor tool may not reflect this update before Open Enrollment ends. But we wanted to share this news now so you can make the best choice for your 2020 health plan.

Please review the rate notice you got in the mail for details on your new Blue Home with UNC Health Alliance plan, as some benefits will be different than what you have today.

NOTE: If you have a subsidy, the amount you receive will likely change in 2020. Log in to Blue Connect℠ to see your 2020 subsidy. Update your financial information on GetBlueNC.com to make sure you get the correct subsidy amount in 2020.
