Updated member ID cards for 2026 September 22, 2025 Products & Programs

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) is making a minor change to our member ID cards, with the traditional suitcase logo being replaced with a product indicator icon. This is per a mandate from the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association (BCBSA) to streamline card design and improve clarity. While this is a minor format change, we wanted to ensure our provider community is aware and ensure they have the most up-to-date member ID card on file for each member.

What’s changing:

  • The traditional suitcase logo (e.g., PPO in a suitcase) will be replaced with a simplified product indicator (e.g., PPO in a box).
  • The new design will begin appearing in late September for all newly issued cards, including those requested by members or issued to new enrollees.
