Updates on Medicare Supplement EOPs Now Available on Fridays
February 23, 2021 Update: The previous effective date of this update has shifted from February 2021 to March 5, 2021.
December 2, 2020 Update: The previous effective date of this update has shifted from December 11, 2020 to February 2021.
November 17, 2020 Update: The previous effective date of this update has shifted from November 20, 2020 to December 11, 2020.
Effective March 5, 2021, Medicare Supplement explanation of payments (EOPs) will be available in Blue e on Fridays instead of Thursdays. Until that time, providers will still be able to access Medicare Supplement EOPs on Thursdays. Providers will see the impact of the migration the week of March 8, 2021.
In an effort to streamline our processes and optimize our print and digital communications, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (Blue Cross NC) will be migrating the printing of EOPs to a new print vendor. The original migration date of October 16, 2020 was revised to accommodate new testing schedules. This migration will only impact the Medicare Supplement EOPs. This migration is currently scheduled for March 5, 2021. We will provide a reminder about this change prior to implementation.
